Butt Lift vs Butt Augmentation
Much emphasis has been placed on having a curvy backside. Since 2016 Buttock Augmentation is one of the fastest growing cosmetic surgical procedures performed by board-certified plastic surgeons. The spike in buttock enhancement procedures may be influenced by the growing popularity of the Kardashian family, Jennifer Lopez and other well-known celebrities with curvy figures.
Known as the “D.C. Butt Doctor,” Dr. Shlomo Widder is a board-certified Plastic Surgeon who has years of training and experience with performing butt lifts and augmentation. At Widder Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery Center in Vienna, VA, we understand how frustrating it can be to achieve tighter, perkier buttocks through diet and exercise alone; no matter how vigorous the routine. Butt lifts and Butt Augmentations can help patients achieve a more “attractive” appearance when exercise has not provided ideal results.
There are two separate procedures for buttock enhancement that Dr. Widder will perform: Lifts and Augmentations. Commonly patients use the term “lift” when what they are really thinking about is volume augmentation. So, that leads to the question, what is the difference between buttock lift and buttock augmentation?
Dr. Widder does NOT perform fat injection to the butt (BBL) because unlike implants, the fat disappears completely or almost completely after a few months, or possibly even sooner. Think about it this way: Breast implants are the number one cosmetic surgery procedure in the US. If fat injections were consistent and reliable, most women would have preferred it for breast implants.
Board-certified Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Shlomo Widder offers butt lift surgery to individuals who wish to improve tightening and raising the saggy skin. With butt lift surgery you can achieve the taut, toned backside you desire. Aging, sun damage, pregnancy, significant fluctuations in weight and genetic factors may contribute to poor tissue elasticity that can result in sagging of the buttocks.
In order to achieve a smoother and more pleasing contour, excess sagging skin and fat are removed. A traditional gluteal lift will not make a butt larger, but may improve a dimpled, irregular skin surface. Unlike a butt augmentation, butt lift surgery does not enhance the size of the buttocks. If you desire more volume, a butt lift can be combined with butt augmentation.
Buttock augmentation, or gluteal augmentation, is used to improve the contour, size and/or shape of the buttocks. This is done through the use of buttock implants. Buttock implants are semi-solid silicone devices that are surgically placed deep within the tissues of the buttock, under the muscle fascia to provide a fuller, curvaceous contour. Butt augmentation is typically performed through single incision that run down low in between the buttocks in order to hide scarring after surgery. During your initial consultation, Dr. Widder will thoroughly examine the area to be treated, discuss the procedure details, and address any question or concerns you may have.
